TechLauncher for Students
There are many ways to get involved as a student in TechLauncher.
Enrolment
Students must enrol in one of the following courses:
- COMP3500 - Software Engineering Project
- COMP4500 - Software Engineering Team Project
- COMP8715 - Advanced Computing Team Project
Team Formation
Teams are formed during the first 2 weeks of semester. We share the project descriptions with students and give you the opportunity to express preferences, along with other students you would like to work with, and your preferred days in the Hive. See Team Formation for details.
How to Engage
- Read the Welcome page on Canvas and your relevant Class Summary
- Get familiar with the information in the Course Information module on Canvas
- Check Announcements and the Ed Discussion board regularly
- Attend your assigned work day for the entire day, 9am to 5pm, entirely IN PERSON to work with your assigned team
- Check in using the check-in PC in The Hive twice: once before 11am and once after 2pm
- Attend the scheduled tutor meeting with your team on the day in person
Other Students
Innovative and disruptive ideas often come from outside the computing and engineering context. We invite students from any part of the ANU to participate in TechLauncher.
Technical ability is not necessary - we need your other skills!
Being an expert in building software and technology is not a requirement for TechLauncher. We are looking for students that have a great idea and/or a passion for working in multidisciplinary teams.
Students from other disciplines should contact one of the Course Convenors to discuss enrolment options.
