Flexibility, iteration, and evolution are all core elements Vittorio Beltracchi embraced at ANU and has carried forward in so many areas of his life. Poet, writer, teacher, traveller, project manager, computer scientist. Vittorio Beltracchi is a modern day renaissance man.
Born in the northern Italian Alps, Vittorio explored the world and various work experiences before finding himself in regional NSW visiting family and seeking out a new life in Australia.
“I had been working in the IT field and had decided to go further with my studies. I was looking to get the best experience and education available to improve my skills and grow my career. I shopped around and started to hear about the prestigious ANU.”
ANU offered this international traveller a range of experiences he had never expected.
“I remember waking up in the morning with a real sense of purpose. The campus life. The lectures. Being exposed to familiar concepts from a totally different perspective.”
“Studying Human-Computer Interaction opened my eyes to what I really love about technology; providing people with something that solves their real problems.”
“The whole experience of studying at ANU opened my mind to everything that happened thereafter. I loved being in an international, multicultural, vibrant environment. My approach to life, to people, to everything, I owe to having had the courage to start a Masters on the other side of the world, at ANU.”
“Having gained hands on experience with Agile and Project Management through my studies at ANU, combined with my certified level of spoken and written English, I was the perfect candidate for my current position with T.I. Telematica Informatica.”
“I remotely manage teams in India and Romania to develop software for banking and financial institutions. I am in a leadership position that I could not have imagined possible before getting on that airplane in 2012 or enrolling initially in the Graduate Diploma and then later, the Master of Computing at CECS. I am proud to be a graduate of ANU, and CECS specifically.”
To prospective students of CECS, Vittorio encourages: “Just do it! If this is your dream, if you love to challenge yourself, and want to become a great Computer Scientist or Engineer, go visit ANU CECS. You do not want to be a robot. You want to build the robots. You want to make a difference.”
