The course features a Mid-Term Test, worth 20% of the course marks, redeemable in the final exam. 25% of the marks on the Mid-Term Test are reserved for distinction-level content, meaning you need to achieve at least 90% of the marks on non-distinction-level content in order for those final 25% to be marked and the corresponding marks counted. While the marks are redeemable, the mid-term test is also associated with the Basic Competency Hurdle, which requires that you achieve at least 25% of the marks on the mid-term test (including marks reserved for distinction-level content, but not counting marks gained through redeemability).
The Mid-Term Test simulates the conditions of the final exam, but is shorter (90 minutes). It is held in computer labs at the following times:
Course | Time |
---|---|
COMP1110 | 24/03, 14:00-15:30 |
COMP6710 | 24/03, 17:30-19:00 |
You are required to show your student ID, and cannot bring any materials to the test (except approved dictionaries), nor use outside help (internet access is restricted; in particular, there is no access to generative AI).
Attending the workshops and participating in the live exercises there, as well as completing your assignments are the best way to prepare for the Mid-Term Test.
