I’m a Senior Lecturer in the School of Cybernetics and I also lead the code/creativity/culture research group.
I wouldn’t be a programmer (and definitely wouldn’t be a lecturer in a Computing and Engineering College department) if it weren’t for creative coding—I was just a maths student meandering through my undergraduate degree in the early 00s when I discovered livecoding. The fact that I could make music with code was enough motivation for me to deal with the frustrating error messages and facepalm-inducing mistakes that are part of everyone’s learn to code journey.
You can see more of my creative code stuff on the c/c/c group homepage or on my homepage.
