Adjusting Volume#
The output volume of the machine should be muted by default, to increase the volume use the menu in the top right hand corner with speaker and power icons. Use the speaker slider to adjust the volume.
Please be aware of your surrounding and the noise you are making, some students may be trying to quietly study.
Connecting Headphones#
The lab computers have a headphones socket on the left hand side of the screen (See label 4 on Computer Diagram). This can be used to connect a headset with combined microphone or just headphones.
When you connect a set of headphones (which also contain a microphone), you should see the following window popup. This allows you to choose to use them as only headphones (the machines microphone will still be used), as both headphones and microphone or just as a microphone (the machines speakers will still be used).
