Final Exam

The final exam will be distributed via GitLab. The exam will begin at 09:00 (9am) Canberra time on 26 June 2020, and will run for 3 hours and 15 minutes.

Before the exam:

At the start of the exam:

  • You will gain access to a private GitLab repository in the Exam GitLab server , named https://exam-gitlab.cecs.anu.edu.au/your-uid/comp1110-final-exam-x (where x is replaced with a letter indicating which variant of the exam you have been assigned). No student currently has access to their exam repository.
  • Clone this repository to your local computer. Do not change the name of this repository, or fork it to a different namespace, or we will not be able to mark your exam.

Once you have cloned the exam and opened it in IntelliJ:

  • answer each question by completing the provided answer file(s) according to the instructions you will find in the file README.md;
  • test your answer to each programming question using the provided unit tests; and
  • after you complete each question, commit and push your work to GitLab.

The last commit that you push to GitLab before the end of the exam will be used for marking. Any commits pushed after the end time of the exam will be ignored and will not count towards your exam mark. You may commit and push as many times as you wish during the exam time; only the final on-time commit will be marked.

Oral Examinations

All assessment in this course may be subject to an oral examination. As part of the final exam, we will select a subset of students (at random) for followup oral examination, consisting of a small number of questions aiming to confirm their exam mark. If the convenor is not satisfied with the outcome of this oral examination, this may result in failure of the final exam and/or an investigation under ANU’s academic integrity rules.

Any student who is unable to complete the final exam on 26 June - for example, due to illness or technical difficulties accessing the exam - will sit a complete oral examination at a later date.

Sample Exam

We have provided a sample exam, which you can use to practice with the format that will be used for the final exam. The number of weighting of questions and the material covered for the final exam may be different from the sample exam.
