3D reconstruction of complex and biological objects

Abstract: Digitising the world and natural collections will unlock a vast amount of data that could lead to major discoveries and novel solutions. 3D reconstruction at high accuracy and large scale is still a very challenging problem in our natural world where constrained vision, complex geometries and surface properties are not well understood and modelled. Students will interact with domain experts, learn how to approach these problems, and have access to special imaging equipment and a GPU cluster.
