Cognitive Learning Content

Research areas

One of the biggest opportunities to transform the learning experience is through the use of emerging highly interactive and “intelligent” computing technologies that we broadly refer to as cognitive computing. There are two critical considerations to designing content with this level of interactivity, namely, (1) content has to be designed with a deep understanding of underlying cognitive neuroscience as well as cognitive theories of learning, and (2) there needs to be a closed feedback loop that assesses, informs and refreshes the principles used to design the content to ensure its efficacy. This project will address the problem of deep analytics of learning contents, including automated meta-tagging of concepts, alignment to curricular standards, and finding the similar contents.
