Australian National Character Check® (ANCC®) is an I.T. company that creates software as a service (SaaS) for employment background checks. ANCC’s user friendly technology allows individuals and businesses to obtain employment background checks online. The ANCC® office is headquartered in Canberra, Australian Capital Territory.

Project—Assist senior developers with design and implementation of Reference Check Platform

Project Tasks include:

  • Development of UI design
  • Learning to assist in design of Database Architecture
  • Implementation of the MySQL querying language.
  • Development of TypeScript.
  • Development of backend PHP architecture.
  • Development of Data Passing JSON structure between web pages.
  • Frameworks used in the Project:
  • Angular
  • Front End: HTML5, CSS, Typescripts
  • Data Passing: REST APIs (JSON)
  • Back end: Python and PHP
  • Server Hosting: Amazon Web Services (AWS)
  • Query Language: MySQL deployed in RDS
  • Version Control: Git
  • Process Management: Agile methodology

Required technical skills

Experience with web development

Delivery Mode

In-Person Internship (only for business/organisations based in ACT, Australia)

Student location

Student must be located in Canberra only

Police check and confidentiality agreements will be obtained prior to placement

Eligible students can apply through the Computing Internship application form which will be available via the Computing Internship page between Tuesday 23 May 2023 to Monday 29 May 2023.

You can nominate multiple preferred Internship projects and host organisations through the one online application form.

Eligibility and Room Available in degree to undertake COMP3820/COMP4820/COMP8830 will be assessed at the time of application. If you do not meet the eligibility criteria or do not have room in your degree to fit COMP3820/COMP4820/COMP8830, your application will not be progressed.

Your application will require you to upload the following documents:

  • an updated copy of your Resume, and
  • an Expression of Interest (limit 350 words) for each organisation you wish to apply to (for organisations with multiple projects only submit one Expression of Interest but state clearly which project/s you wish to be considered for).
