What is Art and Interaction Computing?#
Welcome to COMP1720/6720 Art and Interaction Computing for Semester 2, 2024!
In this course you’ll learn to create expressive and interactive art with code. It’s not just an art course, and it’s not just a code course: you’ll have to do both, and you’ll have a lot of fun along the way. No previous coding or artistic experience is required: the COMP1720 team will teach you everything from the ground up.
In this course you’re an artist, and your canvas is the web browser with javascript and the p5 library. When you want to share the art you make, you can send out a public link.

History#
COMP1720/6720 grew out of the ANU’s new-media computing courses of the mid-2000s and was taught every second semester from 2011 to 2024. Read about its origins, its move from Processing to p5.js, and the people who taught it on the history page.
