Artificial Intelligence

COMP 3620 / 6320 – Semester 1 2026

The first lecture will be on Monday, 23rd Feb. 2026. There will not be any tutorials or drop-in labs until the forth week (March 16th).

This course covers three key topics from the field of AI: Search, Knowledge Representation and Reasoning, and Planning. There are also a few invited lectures to give a flavour of other topics in AI and paths for students to continue their studies.     • for COMP3620: COMP1110 or COMP1140 – and COMP2620
    • for COMP6320: COMP6710 and COMP6262
    • for everyone: know how to code in python and use git

  • Evaluation:
    • 3 assignments (total weight 15%)
    • multiple mini quizzes (only the best 10 count, total weight 10%)
    • 3 long quizzes (total weight 30%)
    • final exam (weight 45%)
  • Passing grade: 50% or more
