Biography

Bernardo holds a degree in Computer Engineering from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (2006), a master’s degree in Informatics from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (2009) and a doctorate in Informatics from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro with a sandwich period at the Leibniz Universität Hannover (2014). He is currently a Lecturer at the Australian National University’s School of Computing as well as at the ANU College of Arts and Social Sciences, Collaborator Professor of the Postgraduate Program in Informatics at UNIRIO (2015-), and Adjunct Professor on leave at the Department of Informatics at the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (2014-2019).

In addition, he served as a researcher at L3S Research Center in Germany (2012 (extraordinary student), 2013 (associate researcher) and 2017 (visiting researcher), visiting researcher at Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche (CNR) in Italy (2015) and visiting researcher at the National University of Australia (2018). Bernardo holds numerous national and international research awards, and published over 100 scientific papers including conferences, book chapters and journals.
