You are welcome and encouraged to start work on this now, but note that our labs next week should help you get more comfortable with verifying correctness of your programs via testing and the week 8 lab will help you practicing higher order functions. To have a quick intoduction to cellular automata refer to Lecture 6B, and the quiz in lecture 6C.
