Bringing together research in Data Privacy and Data Science with a foundation of Software Engineering, the projects supervised through the Software Innovation Institute focus on data driven applications for public good and positive impact on society. We have a variety of individual student projects available and suitable for COMP8800 and COMP3740. Our projects deliver software artifacts utilizing Solid Server technology for privacy first data storage and Flutter for our app development. You will be introduced to software engineering best practices as deployed in industry, using github workflows, Kanban project management, and software reviews, delivering advances through open source software. In addition to delivery of a practical and useful open source artifact, you will deliver a well researched report to present the context, design, implementation, and functionality of the artifact, and what you have learned through the project.
Please visit the Software Innovation Institute for a sample of available projects, or email Graham.Williams@anu.edu.au to explore related ideas that you would like to bring to the project.
