AI for Business Intelligence: Exploring AI tools for data analytics
This project is focused on exploring the use of generative AI (e.g. GPT, Gemini) for data analytics. The interns would have the opportunity to work with Microsoft Copilot and other AI-assisted technologies to write code, analyse data and produce visualisations. In addition, there is an opportunity to test these technologies with Microsoft Power BI. We are aiming to push the boundaries of software development and evaluate the latest AI technologies. This project would include writing articles and presentations about the experience of working with these tools, and the successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with researchers in this field.
There are two components to this internship:
Learning, reading and writing about AI tools and their applications in the software development lifecycle
Using Generative AI and Business Analytics tools such as PowerBI to create data visualisations
The successful applicants will have the opportunity to work with AI models running on high-performance computing platforms and explore AI technologies in the context of an AI-driven research project.
The project is managed by the Research Graph Foundation, and it will have support from academia in a number of Australian research institutions.
All generated materials by interns including articles and source code will be publicly accessible under a Creative Commons licence.
**Required technical skills**\
Required: Experience of working with generative AI such as GPT or Gemini for writing code. Working knowledge of PowerBI or Tableau
**Required professional/other skills**\
Ability to work independently and take initiative while knowing when to ask for help and communicate with others. Having curiosity and diligence are needed for a research project as the ability to collaborate with a small team.
