Project

Zepben’s mapping platform renders electrical assets using Mapbox vector tiles to provide a geospatial view of network infrastructure.

This project focuses on enabling real-time visualisation of telemetry data - such as voltage measurements-directly on the map. Updates will be delivered dynamically using WebSockets, allowing the client application to reflect live changes in asset state.
A key aspect of the project is implementing efficient data streaming based on the user’s current map viewport, ensuring that only relevant, visible data is transmitted and rendered.

By the end of this project, you will have:

  1. Developed a server that allows clients to subscribe to real-time telemetry updates based on the current map viewport.
  2. Integrated client-side functionality with an existing network map component to receive and display live data via WebSockets.
  3. Gained an understanding of WebSocket-based architectures for real-time client updates
