CMTEDD leads the ACT Public Service (ACTPS) and provides strategic advice and support to the Chief Minister, the Directorate’s Ministers and the Cabinet on policy, economic and financial matters, service delivery, whole of government issues and intergovernmental relations. The Directorate facilitates the implementation of government priorities, drives initiatives, as well as leads the strategic direction for the ACTPS to ensure it is well positioned to perform its role.
Project
Critical ICT Infrastructure Replacement
The Technology Services Branch (TSB) delivers a diverse and cohesive range of customer focussed and technically efficient products, support and core technology solutions that underpin service delivery across the ACT Government. This includes identifying and delivering key strategic technology investment priorities including the adoption of consumption-based service models, device and location independence, and cyber-resilience.
As an intern you will participate in a grounded induction and hands on discovery process to understand management of ICT Infrastructure in a complex enterprise environment.
Specific tasks include:
- Engage in developing and maintaining the ICT infrastructure and business systems.
- Provide technical support for online maintenance, fault diagnosis and the identification and implementation of remedial action including monitoring and reporting as required.
- Investigate and suggest solutions on infrastructure and operational issues.
- Assist with the development, review, preparation and maintenance of technical documentation.
- Work as a team member, assisting to ensure that the quality of service delivered to clients meets or exceeds expectations as well as liaising with both internal clients and external suppliers to ensure services are provided to a high standard.
At times interns may be called upon to assist with transactional work and service delivery in areas that are under resourced or during times of peak activity.
Required/Preferred technical skills
Required:
- Knowledge of ICT concepts and environments.
Desired:
- Knowledge of the Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) framework or completion of the ITIL Foundation Certificate would be advantageous.
