Outline
In this lab you will:
- implement a/some foundational element(s) of your portfolio 3
- discuss some potential interactions and and plan their feedback loops
Introduction
Welcome back! So far this term, we have explored ml5’s following models:
You only have one task today and that’s to get started on a sketch for portfolio 3 using one of the above models. It doesn’t have to be too complicated, just getting a start on representing your interpretations.
If you have missed the Week 6 (4/06/2025) lab, there are a few minor changes to the portfolio 3 specification that makes a few things more explicit. Nothing else in the assignment has changed. Please get in touch if you have any questions.
Interpreting the theme
If you haven’t already, go back and do the brainstorming activity in lab 13.
Here are some other questions you might like to consider when gathering your interpretation of the theme:
- What stories or experiences do you have related to the theme (or related words you have come up with?)
- What are some visual representations of these experiences that you could create in p5? (either figurative or abstract)
- How will you share this experience through an interactive audio-visual work?
- What role does the ml5 model have in this interaction? What does it add to the overall experience?
Interaction Design
Now that you have a planned sketch, consider what interactions you might want to include to invite the audience into this experience/story.
Consider the questions posed in lab 11. How will your work be rewarding for the audience to engage with? How will they know how to engage?
If you haven’t already, Fork and Clone the template repo for your project. I think I made sure everyone did last week but just in case.
Summary
Congratulations! In this lab you:
- got started on portfolio 3!
